How often are my prenatal visits?

When you find out you are pregnant you will have an initial visit. At that visit the doctor will assess how far along you are and review your medical history. You will typically get an ultrasound at the first visit if you are far along enough, depending on the doctor, to confirm that your due date is correct. After that typically you will be seen every 3-4 weeks until you are 28 weeks. You will then be seen every two weeks. After 36 weeks you will be seen weekly till you deliver. This can all vary if you are considered a high righ risk pregnancy and according to your doctor’s preference.

How do I prepare for my surgery?

Please visit our Prepare for Surgery page.

What medications are safe to use during pregnancy?

During pregnancy it is best to avoid all medications if possible. At times though, you may need to use an over-the-counter product to relieve symptoms. There will be a list provided at the first obstetrical appointment outlining medication may be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Should these medications not relieve your symptoms adequately you may call the office or see your primary care physician for further treatment or suggestion.
